Arsenal Go Three Points Clear at Top of Premier League After Thumping Win Over Chelsea
Havertz and White Both Score Twice During Dominant Gunners Victory
Tottenham Hotspur 1-3 Arsenal
The Tottenham goal is the first David Raya has conceded in more than 10 hours of football on the road - but it's also the first Arsenal have conceded at home in the Premier League this season. Arsenal went three points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a thumping 4-0 win over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Kai Havertz and Ben White both scored twice for the Gunners, who dominated the match from start to finish. Arsenal took the lead in the 20th minute when Havertz headed home a cross from Bukayo Saka. The Gunners doubled their advantage just four minutes later when White scored with a low drive from outside the box. Havertz made it 3-0 in the 35th minute when he slotted home a penalty after being fouled by Thiago Silva. White completed the scoring in the 63rd minute with a header from a corner. The win was Arsenal's fifth in a row in the Premier League and moved them three points ahead of Manchester City, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa on Saturday. Chelsea's defeat was their second in a row in the Premier League and left them in sixth place, six points behind Arsenal. After the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said: "I am very happy with the performance. We were dominant from the start and we created a lot of chances. "We could have scored more goals but I am very pleased with the way the team played." Chelsea manager Graham Potter said: "We were not good enough today. Arsenal were the better team and they deserved to win. "We need to improve our performance levels and we need to start winning games."
