BREAKING NEWS! Gjallarhorn Sounds to Signal Vikings' Arrival

Vikings Legend Cris Carter and General Jon Jensen Lead the Charge

Clarification: Minnesota National Guard, Not Vikings Legend, Sounded the Gjallarhorn

In a thrilling twist, Minnesota Vikings legend Cris Carter did not sound the Gjallarhorn to signal the beginning of the team's battle, as was initially reported. Instead, it was General Jon Jensen of the Minnesota National Guard who had the honor of initiating the iconic tradition, which has been in place since 2007.

Carter's involvement likely stemmed from a misunderstanding, as he was present at the game and may have been seen near the Gjallarhorn. However, it was General Jensen who performed the official sounding.

The Gjallarhorn, a legendary horn from Norse mythology, has become synonymous with the Vikings' arrival and the start of an epic battle. Since its introduction in 2007, it has been sounded before every Vikings home game at US Bank Stadium. Only extreme weather conditions, such as below-zero temperatures, have prevented its use.
