Predicted Team As Martin Promises Saints Will Make Changes Against Manchester United

Predicted team as Martin promises Saints will make changes against Manchester United

Ralph Hasenhuttl has promised to change things up for Southampton's trip to Manchester United on Saturday

The Saints were beaten 4-0 at home by Aston Villa last weekend

And Hasenhuttl has admitted that he will make changes to his team in an attempt to get a positive result at Old Trafford.

The Austrian coach is likely to make changes in both defence and midfield, with the likes of Mohammed Salisu, Ibrahima Diallo and Nathan Redmond all pushing for starts.

Hasenhuttl's team selection will be influenced by the fitness of several players, including Kyle Walker-Peters, who missed the Villa game with a knock.

If Walker-Peters is not fit, Yan Valery is likely to start at right-back, while Lyanco could come into the side at centre-back.

In midfield, Diallo and Redmond could replace James Ward-Prowse and Stuart Armstrong, while Che Adams could start up front alongside Armando Broja.

Here is a possible starting lineup for Southampton against Manchester United:

  • Forster
  • Valery
  • Lyanco
  • Salisu
  • Perraud
  • Diallo
  • Redmond
  • Elyounoussi
  • Ward-Prowse
  • Adams
  • Broja

Hasenhuttl has also hinted that he could change his formation against Manchester United, with a switch to a back three possible.

The Saints have only won once at Old Trafford in the Premier League era, but they will be hoping to cause an upset on Saturday.
